Every day, companies generate millions of PDFs, yet the technology powering this critical infrastructure is often decades old. Documents are everywhere: customer invoices, compliance reports, legal contracts, and technical documentation. Despite their operational importance, document generation is frequently deprioritized and left to accumulate technical debt.
Current solutions force teams to choose tech stacks that are either slow and resource-intensive, based on proprietary file formats with no version-control support, or come with messy dependencies and poor developer experience. These legacy systems are difficult to maintain and scale.
In this talk, attendees will learn how to combine Rust's performance and cross-platform support with Typst's modern typesetting to create a production-grade document infrastructure that is 10x faster than traditional solutions while remaining developer-friendly and fully version-controllable. The architecture can be deployed on-prem or using serverless platforms based on operational requirements.
