In this talk, I share my real-world experience from Private Equity, FinTech, and Healthcare environments, where I harmonized multiple platforms, led large-scale cloud/data migrations, and established a CTO Office that could scale.
The session will go into the technical architecture decisions, engineering practices, and trade-offs faced:
- How we approached cloud migration under strict compliance
- Strategies for consolidating heterogeneous system
- How architectural patterns supported product delivery and data-driven use cases
I cover the pitfalls and failures we encountered along the way, how we adjusted our approach to avoid or recover from them, and the concrete lessons practitioners can apply to their own large-scale migration and harmonization projects.

I am a Principal Software Architect at PagoNxt (Santander Company), in Munich, deeply rooted in the FinTech industry. In my current role, I lead numerous business-critical projects, focusing primarily on secure platform architecture enhancements and the challenging task of migrating over 100+ application modules from traditional data centers to the Cloud. As a member of the Architecture Board and the Global Enterprise Architecture, I play a key role in shaping our target platform architecture. Additionally, being part of the Leadership team allows me to contribute to strategic decision-making processes, driving innovation and the continuous improvement of our delivery and efficiency in our solutions.
